Shell Offshore

Shell, one of the world's leading energy suppliers, uses two Proven 2.5EX wind turbines to power an unmanned oil platform in the North Sea.

The platform was previously powered by diesel generators that required constant servicing and frequent refueling. The Proven marine grade turbines are corrosion and explosion proof and are able to withstand the harsh environment of the North Sea.

Regular helicopter trips to the oil platform to fuel and service the diesel generator have been minimized as Proven Energy turbines require only annual servicing. Producing up to 10,000 kwh of electricity a year, the turbines provide a reliable, constant, and robust power solution for Shell.

The Proven Energy turbine delivers independent power, reducing diesel run times and the requirement for marine cable.
