Record Number Of Orders for Proven Energy - Feb 2007

Proven Energy Stewarton, MD Andrew McMullan and Sales Executive David Watson with Rod Macneal of Solar & Wind Applications and 100th Order

Following the recent Low Carbon Accelerator investment of £4.5 million, Proven Energy, the Stewarton based wind turbine manufacturer, are today celebrating as February’s order total reached 100 up from 35 per month a few months ago. This milestone marks the way forward for the fast growing company who are expanding their manufacturing plant to meet increased demand.

Proven Energy manufactures and supplies wind turbines through a network of distributors to domestic, commercial and local authority customers. The turbines generate power by harnessing the wind and converting it into electricity. Proven Energy Sales Executive David Watson says;

“Climate change has been at the forefront of the news for a while which is causing demand for alternative and greener ways to provide power. It makes perfect sense to use a natural resource such as wind which is so readily available, especially in Scotland! I am thrilled that our orders for February have reached the 100 mark - this is 5 times the amount we sold in February 2006. It shows that people are getting serious about helping the environment and as we all know, it takes everyone to do their bit to make a difference.”

Rod Macneal of Solar and Wind Applications Ltd placed the order for the 100th turbine and was invited to Proven Energy Head Office for a slice of celebratory cake.

Solar and Wind Applications is an Ayrshire based distributor and installer of Proven Energy turbines specialising in school renewable energy installations.

Rod’s vision for Solar and Wind Applications is to “encourage the education of children in sustainable energy by providing solar and wind installations for schools, households, businesses and communities”. Rod’s order for the two 6KW turbines is planned to provide about 30% of electricity requirement for Balfron High School, West Stirlingshire. Grants and funding have been awarded to the school. Students at the school will be able to learn first hand about renewable energy and they will also see how much power the turbines are producing through a digital monitor situated in the main assembly area.
